Around every corner is a cause. Across the street is a cause. Across town, across state lines, across the oceans are causes. A “cause” is a person or thing that gives rise to an action. It is a principle, aim or movement that because of a deep commitment, one is prepared to defend or advocate. A cause motivates people to do something, to take action.
James 2:14-17 says, “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
The relationship between a cause and an effect or change is God. God is the one who draws together a cause that moves him, and people who will take action to bring about an effect or change in his name. There are three causes God has drawn Worship In Action to:
